There are 45,000 Self Storage Facilities in the United States. More than 1 million Self Storage Units are auctioned yearly.

State Laws prescribe strict guidelines Self Storage Facilities must follow for a Self Storage Facility auction to be legal.

Most states require Self Storage Facilities after satisfying their lien and administrative cost to UPON DEMAND return any money that remains to the Auctioned Renter or Person of Vested Interest.

The money, if any, that remains is the Auction Overage.

States specify how long an Auctioned Renter or Person of Vested Interest has to demand an Auction Overage. (Go To Our State Laws Tab and Click Your State to See What Your State Specifies)

Cost Statement

Because a large percentage of Self Storage Units are auctioned due to financial difficulties we ask a minimum donation of $2.00 for the rendering of our service. We offer the $2.00 minimum donation to afford every Auctioned Renter an opportunity to Demand Auction Overage and access the legality of their property’s auctioning.

Of course $2.00 does not cover the cost to provide or sustain this service. It is our hope that those who can will donate accordingly.

If you cannot afford the $2.00 donation please use our contact link to email us giving a brief statement explaining your situation and the state in which your self-storage unit was auctioned and we will assist you.

It is our belief that NO SELF STORAGE FACILITY SHOULD MAKE A PROFIT FROM THE AUCTION OF A RENTER’S PROPERTY.
